CHURCH HISTORY located at 24388 US Highway 331 S. Santa Rosa Beach, Florida,, began in 1996. It was started by people who believed they were acting under the leadership of God to establish the church. It has gone through several changes since it began. At the time of this writing only one of the Charter members is still alive but the church has continued to change as God so desired. Around 2018, God led the members to begin the Open Door Food Pantry. This ministry of providing food to those in need has grown to the point of serving over 1500 people a week. The Food Pantry does not seek any qualifications before helping those who say they are hungry. We merely act as the hands and feet of Jesus and serve those who come.

MISSION STATEMENT The mission of The Church at the Bay and Open Door Food Pantry located at 24388 US Highway 331 S. Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, is to bring glory and honor to God the Father by the things we do as a body of believers. Reaching people for Jesus is our motivation and the Word of God is our guideline. The Bible is our inerrant guide and the final word for our decision-making process. It is our goal to treat people like Jesus did with respect due to those who are made in the image of God. We desire to see people repent and turn to Jesus before it is too late.

He is a graduate of Clear Creek Baptist College in Pineville Kentucky and attended graduate school at Southern Baptist Center for Biblical Studies and holds a Master of Ministry from that institute. He pursued even higher education and was awarded a Doctor of Bible from Southern Baptist Center for Biblical Studies as well. He has also studied at Luther Rice Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Pastor Campbell has been living in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, with his family since 2001 when he first came to Walton County as the Director of Missions for the Walton County Baptist Association. He has been married to his wife, Terry Campbell, for 49 years and they have one son, Jeremiah Campbell.

CEO OF THE OPEN DOOR FOOD PANTRY Bill Howell moved to Walton County, Florida, in 2006 following his retirement from Pennsylvania Power and Light where he had been employed for 40 years and began his affiliation with the Church at the Bay that same year. He later became the CEO of the Open Door Food Pantry located at 24388 US Highway 331 S. Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, in March of 2018 when it was founded and funded by him and five other church members. Bill is presently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the church and Chairman of the church finance committee. He has also served in numerous other church capacities during his long tenure. Bill has been married to his wife, Donna, for 54 years and they have two sons, Andrew and Steven.

As a southern baptist church with a Saturday food pantry we believe that worship is a powerful way to connect with God and experience His presence in our lives. Our worship services are designed to be uplifting, inspiring, and centered around the teachings of Christ. It is therefore fitting that we should also feed his sheep as He commanded.
